Just when we thought it couldn’t get worse than House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, it has now been learned that Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff is now campaigning Democrats to make him the next House leader.
It’s important to remember that Schiff was a key player in pushing the now debunked Russian hoax for years while Trump was in office.
According to Breitbart, the Washington Post interviewed up to 8 lawmakers and 18 staff members. They found that Schiff was “gauging members’ interest and planting the seed” in lawmakers’ minds to replace Nancy Pelosi as the leader after the midterms.
What’s even worse is that it looks like Pelosi has been secretly grooming Schiff to be her successor. Schiff has also been speaking to California Democrats to convince them that he is the right guy for the job.
Some Democrat lawmakers on the other hand are against Schiff being the next House Speaker. Democrats such as Reps. James Clyburn (D-SC) and Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) do not want Schiff to replace Pelosi. It should also be noted that Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) is also interested in being the next Speaker.
One major benefit Schiff has is his ability to fundraise, the Post explained, “He has hired political fundraiser Bruce Kieloch, whom Pelosi uses for the House Majority PAC. He has $19 million cash on hand in his personal campaign account and his leadership PAC has raised $7 million this year for candidates and the DCCC, according to FEC filings.”
