Former Democratic congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard expressed her firm belief on “Hannity” that Democrats are actively seeking to eliminate former President Trump from electoral contention. Gabbard, known for her candid opinions, argued that both Democratic and Republican “war hawks” are consistently advocating for U.S. intervention in foreign countries that employ similar measures against political candidates.
According to Gabbard, the Democratic elite employs a consistent modus operandi aimed at securing and perpetuating their authority, even if it involves curtailing the voting rights of American citizens. She asserted that the removal of Trump from the ballot and the relentless pursuit and persecution through a weaponized and politicized Department of Justice are indicative of the lengths some are willing to go to maintain political power. Gabbard emphasized the absurdity of such discussions taking place in the United States.
Gabbard highlighted the irony of certain political figures in Washington who, while advocating for intervention in other nations experiencing similar situations, are actively driving efforts to sideline Trump. She underscored that this inclination is not exclusive to Democrats but also involves Republicans who perceive Trump’s deviation from established norms as a threat to their influence.
Gabbard’s remarks followed the disqualification of former President Trump from Maine’s presidential primary ballot by the state’s Democratic Secretary of State, Shenna Bellows. Bellows cited Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which bars individuals who have “engaged in insurrection” from holding office. The ruling came in response to challenges from state residents, including a bipartisan group of former lawmakers, questioning Trump’s eligibility for ballot inclusion.
