Jimmy Kimmel has become a total joke.
On Monday night, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel took a jab at President Donald Trump during his monologue, following comments the president made about Taylor Swift being booed at Super Bowl LVII.
During the game, which featured a showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, Swift was shown on the video board at the Caesars Superdome. The stadium was filled with Eagles fans, and Swift, a vocal supporter of the Chiefs, attended the game to cheer on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Unfortunately for Swift, the Chiefs suffered a significant loss, with a final score of 40-22.
In response to this, President Trump shared his thoughts on Truth Social, remarking that Swift had a rough night, claiming, “The only person that had a worse night than the Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She was BOOED out the stadium. MAGA is so unforgiving.”
Kimmel quickly seized the opportunity to take a swipe at the president. In his typical comedic fashion, Kimmel responded, “She wasn’t booed ou the stadium. Unlike you Donald, she remained there for the entire game. And it just happened to be Eagles fans that were booing her. But you are right, it is all about you.” He added, “Trump is jealous of Swift because she’s got way more followers, and much more money, and is way more successful.”
It’s clear that the media and celebrities like Taylor Swift aren’t afraid to speak their minds, even if it means standing in opposition to prominent figures. Swift, who supported Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 election, remains a significant figure in the pop culture landscape. Meanwhile, Trump, who continues to be a major influence on the Republican Party, seems to have different priorities.
While Trump may have left the game early, Swift remained until the end, undeterred by the boos, as the Chiefs struggled to find any rhythm on the field. It’s a clear reminder that even the most influential figures have their highs and lows, but it’s how they handle those moments that makes them stand out.
