Could Rogan actually be right?
Joe Rogan stirred controversy this week with a bold suggestion about President Biden’s true feelings toward the 2024 election. During a podcast, Rogan implied that Biden might have secretly been rooting for Donald Trump to win, especially after the pressure his own party put on him to step down earlier in the year.
The speculation kicked off after a recent meeting between Biden and Trump at the White House, where Biden was seen smiling broadly. Rogan, who is known for his blunt commentary, didn’t hold back. “Do you know my favorite thing from this whole election cycle?” Rogan asked. “It is when Joe Biden and Trump sat met at the White House. Biden definitely voted for Trump, I promise you. I have never seen him that happy ever. He lost. The Democrat party lost. And he was happy about it.”
Rogan drew a comparison between Biden’s demeanor and that of former President Obama’s reaction to Trump’s 2016 win, suggesting that while Obama looked visibly frustrated, Biden seemed almost relieved or even pleased. Rogan pointed to a photo of Biden beaming next to Trump, joking, “Look at Biden! Look at his smile! That’s like when your kid gets married!”
He also mentioned a moment during the campaign when Biden donned a Trump hat, mocking the idea that Biden, in his heart, might have preferred Trump’s return over a potential Harris presidency. “I guarantee you he was happy,” Rogan said. “He had a giant smile on his face. He said, ‘Welcome back,’” Rogan quipped, poking fun at the former rhetoric Biden used against Trump.
For months, Biden had painted Trump as a threat to democracy, a danger to the country’s future. However, Rogan noted the striking contrast in Biden’s post-election tone. The conciliatory attitude Biden adopted after the election was a far cry from the dire warnings he had issued during the campaign.
Rogan’s take underscores the growing frustration among some conservative commentators, who see Biden’s actions as inconsistent with his earlier rhetoric. The spectacle of Biden’s “happy” smile next to Trump, many argue, shows that perhaps the political establishment knows something that everyday voters do not. With the 2024 race heating up, these questions about Biden’s true intentions may continue to spark debate in the months to come.
