What’s Kamala so scared of?

On Monday, former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to reveal that Vice President Kamala Harris has decided against participating in the upcoming Fox News debate scheduled for September 4th.

Trump expressed his lack of surprise regarding Harris’s decision, commenting, “Comrade Kamala Harris has just announced that she will NOT take part in the Fox News Debate on September 4th.” He suggested that Harris’s reluctance stems from her inability to effectively defend her record, noting her previous statements and policy reversals. Trump highlighted Harris’s inconsistent stance on fracking in Pennsylvania and criticized her performance as “Border Czar,” claiming that her policies have led to an uncontrolled influx of individuals into the country.

In lieu of the debate, Trump plans to host a “Tele-Town Hall” event, which will be moderated by Sean Hannity and broadcast on Fox News. This event is set to take place in Pennsylvania, with further details to be announced soon.

Earlier this month, Trump had confirmed his participation in three scheduled debates, including one with NBC News on September 25, as well as forums hosted by ABC and Fox News. At a press conference in Mar-a-Lago, Trump confirmed, “We have those three dates and networks confirmed, and they are all looking forward to these debates.”

In contrast, Harris has only officially agreed to the ABC debate. She has expressed hesitance towards the Fox News debate while showing some openness to the NBC News event. On August 8, she stated, “I’m glad he has agreed to the debate on September 10. I am open to discussing an additional debate or scheduling one after September 10.”

Since President Biden’s decision on July 21 to withdraw from the race and endorse Harris as his successor, Harris has not conducted any press conferences.
