VIDEO: Pelosi Insults Biden At DNC

Pelosi clearly still has big problems with Biden.

At the Democratic National Convention, Nancy Pelosi appeared noticeably upset while participating in the “We love Joe” chant for President Biden, just hours after addressing speculation about a strained relationship with the commander-in-chief.

Pelosi, who is 84, was seen holding a “We [heart] Joe” sign alongside other Democrats who enthusiastically voiced their support for President Biden during his speech in Chicago late Monday night. Despite this show of support, Pelosi’s demeanor was less than enthusiastic; she seemed to mouth the chant quietly and wore a rather subdued expression.

President Biden, aged 81, delivered his speech at 11:27 p.m. ET on the first night of the DNC, concluding well past midnight for those on the East Coast. Earlier that evening, Pelosi had to fend off claims that she was part of a faction attempting to undermine Biden. She addressed these rumors by stating, “Sometimes you have to take a punch for the children.” She clarified that her focus was on the campaign rather than personal grievances with the president, although she did not confirm whether she had spoken to Biden since he withdrew from the race the previous month.

Pelosi expressed discomfort with the ongoing scrutiny about her relationship with Biden, questioning, “Why are we even talking about it?” Anita Dunn, a former senior adviser to Biden who has since left the White House, downplayed the situation, insisting to CNN that the party is unified and moving forward.

During his speech, Biden dismissed rumors of harboring grudges and maintained that he was not holding any animosity regarding his exit from the race. Reports surfaced that Pelosi had allegedly threatened to publicly criticize Biden if he did not end his re-election bid while he was recovering from COVID-19 at his Delaware beach house. Sources claimed that Pelosi suggested Biden would be unlikely to win against former President Donald Trump and implied that she would release negative polling data to support her position.

This purported pressure reportedly contributed to Biden’s decision to withdraw from the 2024 race, a move formally announced on July 21. Despite a long history of mutual support between Pelosi and Biden, their relationship seemed to deteriorate following Biden’s poor debate performance and growing calls from Democrats for him to step aside. Pelosi has since sought to repair their relationship, promoting her new book and publicly praising Biden, suggesting that he deserves a place on Mount Rushmore and that his mental acuity was not a concern. Although Biden has rarely discussed Pelosi in public, he did mention her in the context of his decision to exit the race, highlighting the complex dynamics between the two veteran politicians.
