Trump And MAGA Lose Major Ally

This is going to cause a huge shake up.

Washington, D.C. – President Donald J. Trump is taking a bold stand against the legal establishment that once helped him build a conservative Supreme Court majority. In a dramatic break with the influential Federalist Society, Trump is now leading a new movement to reclaim the judicial system for the American people—and for the Constitution.

At the center of this clash is Leonard Leo, the longtime legal kingmaker who once advised Trump on judicial picks. But after a court decision blocked key parts of the president’s second-term America First tariff plan, Trump slammed Leo as a “sleazebag” and accused the group of sabotaging his conservative agenda.

“They gave me bad advice. That can’t be forgotten,” Trump wrote.

Now, the MAGA movement is pushing back hard—demanding judges who are fearless, loyal to the Constitution, and committed to putting America First.

Trump’s New Judicial Strategy: Out With the Old, In With the Bold

During his first term, Trump relied heavily on the Federalist Society to suggest judges. That strategy helped secure a 6–3 conservative majority on the Supreme Court, with Justices Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett delivering landmark wins on gun rights, religious freedom, and overturning Roe v. Wade.

But in his second term, things have changed.

A newly assembled White House team—led by Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Counsel to the President David Warrington, and Deputy Counsel Steve Kenny—is now driving the administration’s judicial efforts. They’ve joined forces with outside supporters, including Mike Davis of the Article III Project, a close Trump ally known for defending the president following the FBI’s controversial search of Mar-a-Lago.

“We need judges who are bold, fearless, and not afraid to challenge the Deep State,” Davis said.

What Sparked the Feud? Trump vs. the Trade Court

The break became public after the U.S. Court of International Trade—featuring a Trump-appointed judge—blocked the bulk of Trump’s China tariffs. Trump lashed out at Leonard Leo and the Federalist Society, saying he was misled in trusting them early in his presidency.

In a post to his followers, Trump said Leo had his own “ambitions” and was no longer aligned with the America First movement. He accused the group of turning its back on him during coordinated legal attacks by the radical left.

“They acted like cowards during lawfare,” Davis added. “Some even joined in.”

While Leo refused to fire back, his allies rushed to defend him. Former Vice President Mike Pence praised the Federalist Society as “indispensable.” Others, like legal writer Ed Whelan, openly criticized Trump’s judicial picks—especially Emil Bove, a tough prosecutor and Trump loyalist.

But MAGA loyalists fired back hard. DOJ officials called the criticism “bitter” and “jealous,” standing by Bove as a fighter for the rule of law.

America First Judiciary: The Next Generation of Judges

Trump’s new judicial philosophy is simple: pick judges who put America first, uphold the Constitution, and resist the political pressures of Washington’s swamp.

Mike Davis laid it out plainly:

“This isn’t about loyalty to Trump. It’s about loyalty to the American people, and to the Constitution.”

This marks a clear shift from the Bush-era conservative legal circles that often seek approval from liberal law schools and the corporate media. Trump’s new legal team is focused on results, not reputation.

Expect a new generation of judges—men and women who are ready to:

  • Rein in bloated government agencies
  • Stand firm on border enforcement
  • Defend religious liberty and gun rights
  • Stop activist rulings that defy the Constitution

Why It Matters to You

For older conservatives, this fight is more than politics—it’s about the soul of the American legal system. Trump is once again doing what the establishment fears most: exposing the insiders, cleaning house, and putting We the People back in charge.

Whether it’s tariffs, lawfare, or Supreme Court battles, one thing is clear: President Trump is not backing down. And in his second term, he’s not leaving judicial appointments to the elites.

He’s taking control—and bringing the MAGA movement with him.
