The left is lashing out hard after losing the election. They need to touch grass.
On Wednesday night, MSNBC host Joy Reid took to the airwaves with a pointed Thanksgiving message aimed squarely at Republicans and supporters of President Trump, telling them, “Make your own dinner, MAGA.”
During the final segment of her show The Reidout, Reid used the holiday as a platform to criticize conservatives, claiming they shouldn’t expect any sympathy or camaraderie after the election. “You Republicans should not have to pay for the consequences of your votes,” she said sarcastically. “You do not want to be near me because I decided to vote for fascism, but you demand I put on a mask for your protection while you continue to spread lies. Well, here is a different idea: prepare your own dinner, MAGA. prepare your own sandwiches, wipe away your own tears, and leave us alone.”
Reid further criticized Republicans for what she described as their “worship” of Donald Trump instead of focusing on more important matters. She also took aim at those who voted for Trump, suggesting they shouldn’t expect any recognition or special treatment. “If you think the 73 million who voted for the prosecutor — not the felon — and the 92% of Black women who voted for Kamala should be handing out cookies or trophies for your vote, you might be asking too much,” Reid said. “If we want to share a meal, we will. But if we want peace over the holidays and don’t want to deal with your trolling while we eat our Tofurky, get over it.”
Her remarks didn’t stop there. Reid also dismissed the idea that liberals owed Trump supporters anything. “Stop acting like we owe you,” she declared. “Our Thanksgiving, our choice.”
The tone of her segment reflected a broader liberal sentiment seen in recent weeks, where Reid has criticized various groups, including Latino voters, and made sharp remarks about Black women’s role in America’s future. She even advised White progressive women to leave Black women off their protest invitation lists, suggesting they weren’t interested in fighting against Trump’s presidency.
Reid’s remarks were a stark reminder of the deepening divisions in the country and the increasingly polarized nature of our political discourse. Her message, though directed at Republicans, underscores the bitter partisanship that seems to define much of today’s political landscape.
