Looks like the GOP still needs Trump.

In a recent interview with Axios, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell finally put and end to the rumors and said that if former President Donald Trump is the GOP nominee in 2024 he will support him.

McConnell’s comments come after he bashed Trump for the January 6th Capitol protest which turned violent.

According to Newsmax, McConnell said, “As the Republican leader in the Senate, it should not be a front-page headline that I will support the Republican nominee for president. I think I have an obligation to support the nominee of my party, and I will … that will mean, whoever the nominee is, has gone out and earned the nomination.”

Not long after the Capitol riot, McConnell bashed Trump and said that his action were a “disgraceful dereliction of duty” and there is “no question, none,” that he “is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day.”

In the past Trump also hammered McConnell and nicknamed him an “old crow.”
