McConnell In Worse Shape Than Expected

This is very worrying.

Republicans Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell still hasn’t been able to return to Congress and this is causing a lot of panic for Senate Republicans.

According to Newsmax, Mitch McConnell, the Republican leader of the United States Senate, disclosed that he had concluded inpatient physical therapy and had returned home on Saturday. He sustained a concussion after tripping and falling at a hotel in Washington, D.C. earlier this month.

In a statement, 81-year-old McConnell stated that he plans to heed the recommendations of his physical therapists and work from home for the next several days in order to serve Kentuckians and Republicans.

“I look forward to returning in person to the Senate soon,” still-recovering McConnell said.

Having been initially elected to the Senate to represent Kentucky in 1984, the Republican leader suffered a concussion and minor rib fracture after tripping at a dinner event on March 8. As a result, he was admitted to a hospital for medical attention.

McConnell stayed in the hospital until March 13th, after which he transferred to a rehabilitation center in order to recuperate his strength.

At the time, the Democratic President Joe Biden and the Republican-led House of Representatives were at odds over the $31.4 trillion debt ceiling as McConnell was absent from the Senate.

The absence of progress in negotiations has prompted concerns about a potential summer default.

A large number of Americans are now starting to think that it’s time for Republican leader Mitch McConnell to step down and hand the torch over to a new generation of Republican leaders who will fix all of wrongs in Senate. McConnell has been accused a number of times of being “compromised” by Democrats and this latest injury to the injured Senator may be worse for him than expected.
