Where’s the mainstream media now?
Federal prosecutors are now confirming that a decisive executive order signed by President Donald Trump directly helped the FBI uncover and stop a potentially devastating New Year’s Eve terror plot in California—an achievement that has received little to no attention from the mainstream media.
According to First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli, the investigation that led to multiple arrests only began after President Trump issued a sweeping executive order in September 2025 directing federal law enforcement agencies to refocus their attention on violent far-left extremist groups operating inside the United States.
Speaking Tuesday on Fox & Friends, Essayli said the president’s order was the turning point.
“This investigation was triggered by President Trump’s executive order and the attorney general’s follow-up memo,” Essayli explained. “That directive told the federal government to move resources and start seriously examining these groups.”
Executive Order Leads to Arrests
The Justice Department says four individuals are now in federal custody, accused of plotting coordinated attacks on U.S. companies in California using explosive devices scheduled for New Year’s Eve.
Prosecutors describe the suspects as members of an anti-capitalist, anti-government extremist network that openly discussed political violence. Essayli identified the group as the Order of the Black Lotus, which operates under a larger organization known as the Turtle Island Liberation Front.
According to federal officials, the organization displays many of the same characteristics commonly associated with Antifa-style movements, including hostility toward law enforcement, U.S. institutions, and private enterprise.
Trump Takes Action Where Others Didn’t
In September, President Trump signed an executive order aimed at cracking down on violence linked to far-left extremist groups, formally classifying Antifa-connected organizations as domestic terrorist threats.
Essayli said the order marked a sharp shift in federal priorities.
“Before this administration, these groups were not being closely monitored,” he said. “Now the FBI is laser-focused on identifying and dismantling them.”
Authorities say the suspects allegedly discussed targeting ICE agents, government vehicles, and private businesses—raising concerns about public safety and national security.
Undercover Operation Prevents Attack
Federal prosecutors revealed that the executive order gave investigators the time and authority needed to embed an undercover agent inside the group. That agent was able to observe planning efforts in real time as the suspects allegedly tested explosive devices, shared written instructions for making pipe bombs, and communicated through encrypted messaging platforms.
“They may look unserious to some,” Essayli warned, “but they are extremely dangerous and far more sophisticated than people realize.”
Media Silence Raises Questions
Despite the seriousness of the alleged plot—and the role President Trump’s leadership played in stopping it—major national media outlets have largely ignored the story.
Supporters of the administration argue that if a similar threat had been disrupted under a Democrat president, it would dominate headlines and receive wall-to-wall coverage.
For now, prosecutors say the investigation remains ongoing. But officials stress that strong executive leadership, decisive action, and a renewed focus on law and order were critical in preventing what could have been a deadly attack on American soil.
