VIDEO: New York AG Trolls Trump

This is such a pathetic move by James.

Alina Habba, the attorney representing Donald Trump, raised concerns about the conduct of New York Attorney General Letitia James during the former president’s civil fraud trial, alleging that James took her shoes off in the courtroom as a way to mock Trump. The trial, initiated by James in September 2022, accused Trump and several associates of inflating assets to obtain favorable loans. Presided over by Judge Arthur Engoron, the trial concluded late last year with a ruling that Trump must pay approximately $355 million in damages and is barred from serving as a director of any New York corporation for three years. Trump, a leading contender for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, has consistently denied wrongdoing and attributed the legal actions against him to political motives.

Christopher Kise, another lawyer for Trump, criticized the court’s ruling as draconian and unconstitutional, emphasizing the impact on Trump’s extensive business interests. Trump’s legal battles, including pending criminal cases, have implications for his political future, yet he continues to assert his innocence.

Habba’s remarks about James’s courtroom behavior were made during an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, where she criticized James for purportedly being inattentive and casual during proceedings. Habba’s comments gained attention on social media, reflecting broader scrutiny of the trial’s proceedings.

Beyond questioning James’s conduct, Habba has previously launched personal attacks against her, accusing James of attempting to dismantle the Trump family and its business ventures. James, however, has welcomed the court’s decision, emphasizing the importance of equal treatment under the law, even for former presidents.

In addition to Trump, his sons Donald Jr. and Eric were fined and prohibited from conducting business in New York for a period of time. Ivanka Trump, initially a defendant in the case, had charges against her dropped due to the statute of limitations, though Engoron criticized her for her lack of cooperation during the proceedings.
