AOC needs to take a chill pill.

During an interview on MSNBC’s “Inside,” Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) criticized Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL), stating that his actions regarding teachers, schools, and the LGBTQ+ community were a “serious political misjudgment.”

When host Jen Psaki asked Ocasio-Cortez about the ongoing presidential race and the possibility of Joe Biden facing Donald Trump, the congresswoman acknowledged that Trump might indeed be an advantageous opponent for Biden.

Ocasio-Cortez then elaborated on DeSantis’ mistakes, stating that he was attempting to imitate Trump, which she believed was an ineffective strategy.

She argued that DeSantis had gone too far in his attacks on teachers, schools, and LGBTQ+ individuals in Florida, deeming them to be significant miscalculations that would not resonate well with voters. She further noted that while DeSantis might be attempting to win over Trump’s base, he had ultimately sacrificed the one perceived advantage he had—being perceived as more rational than Trump, which she deemed him not to be.

In transcript provided by Breitbart, AOC said, “You can’t out-Trump Trump, that’s what he’s trying to do. His attacks on teachers, on schools, on LGBTQ Americans, I think, go way too far in the state of Florida. I think that they are a profound political miscalculation, and an overcompensation. He may be trying to win the base, but that base belongs to Donald Trump. He has sacrificed, I think, the one thing that others may have thought would make him competitive, which is this idea that he can somehow be more rational than Donald Trump which he isn’t.”
