Popular New Trend Tied To Trump

The liberal media is losing their minds.

Is choosing steak over soy a political statement? According to the Left, it might be.

A recent Vanity Fair article claims America’s growing obsession with high-protein diets, red meat, and muscle-building is somehow linked to supporters of President Donald Trump and the broader MAGA movement.

The May 1 piece, titled “Why Are Americans So Obsessed With Protein? ‘Blame MAGA,’” paints a bizarre picture—connecting the desire for lean muscle mass, testosterone support, and nutrition-focused living with conservative values.

Protein, Muscle, and Masculinity: A Political Threat?

The article leans on internist Dr. Pieter Cohen, who noted that more male patients are now asking about increasing protein intake. Instead of celebrating that men are becoming more health-conscious, Cohen suggests it’s a result of what he calls “manomania”—a play on the manosphere, which the Left often links to anti-feminism and conservative thought.

He even claimed, “everyone’s letting their testosterone out these days.”

In a time when healthy aging and muscle preservation are critical for men over 50, the Left is mocking the very idea of dietary discipline and weight training as some kind of political rebellion.

Meat as Masculine? Yes—and Healthy Too

The article labels men’s preference for meat, protein powder, and strength training as a “lust for protein,” using a 2023 study to assert that men tie their food choices to masculinity. Apparently, eating steak is now a form of “identity politics.”

It then stretches to argue that President Trump is at the center of this trend, citing his love for burgers and appearances on popular shows like The Joe Rogan Experience and This Past Weekend with Theo Von—hosts who promote low-carb, high-protein, and red meat-heavy diets like the carnivore diet.

From Protein Shakes to Steroids? The Left’s Latest Panic

Perhaps the most outrageous claim is that young men who use protein powders could be on a slippery slope toward anabolic steroid use—a baseless assertion with no practical merit.

They even drag in respected neuroscientist Dr. Andrew Huberman, known for promoting evidence-based nutrition, who encourages balanced protein consumption and muscle-building strategies that benefit both men and women.

Mary Katharine Ham Responds: “Wanting a Steak Isn’t a Crime”

Conservative commentator Mary Katharine Ham fired back on The Will Cain Show:

“If wanting a steak and prominent delts is wrong, I don’t want to be right.”

Ham pointed out how the Left has surrendered yet another area of life—fitness, nutrition, and strength training—to the Right. More women, she notes, are waking up to the benefits of protein-rich diets, not for politics, but for health, bone density, and longevity.

“It’s not gendered. It’s just good for you.”

Why a High-Protein Diet Makes Sense for Americans Over 50

In truth, protein intake becomes more essential with age. As testosterone levels decline and muscle mass naturally diminishes, a diet rich in high-quality protein helps support strength, endurance, and mobility—especially for men over 50.

Grass-fed beef, eggs, chicken, and whey protein are not just masculine—they’re smart nutrition choices. And if the Left wants to politicize that, let them.

Bottom Line: Healthy Living Isn’t Political—It’s Patriotic

Choosing high-protein foods, lifting weights, and taking care of your body is no longer just a lifestyle—it’s becoming a conservative value. And if loving liberty means loving a ribeye, count us in.
