Red State Makes God First Again

Many conservatives have applauded this idea.

Texas Republicans are taking a bold stand for faith, freedom, and America’s founding values, proposing new legislation to honor the promises of God and restore moral clarity in government.

House Concurrent Resolution 59, sponsored by Republican State Representative Carrie Isaac, would officially designate April as “Promise Month” every year for a decade. The measure is a powerful affirmation of Christian values, biblical truth, and the role faith has always played in shaping the United States of America.

The bill outlines Scripture-based principles, quotes multiple Bible verses, and celebrates salvation through Jesus Christ. It boldly declares what millions of Americans already know:

“The Declaration of Independence makes it evident that our nation’s foundation is deeply influenced by biblical teachings and Christian ideals.”

But predictably, left-wing activists and anti-faith legal groups are trying to shut it down.

Secular Groups Attack Christianity in Government

The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), a group known for attacking prayer in public schools and Bibles in classrooms, has condemned the Texas bill. They argue it amounts to “endorsing Christianity”—as if faith in God is something to be ashamed of.

“This creates second-class citizens,” claimed FFRF’s Mickey Dollens, insisting that recognizing Christianity violates the Constitution.

But millions of Americans disagree. They know that religious liberty means the freedom to express faith—not silence it.

The real goal of these radical groups? To erase the nation’s Judeo-Christian foundation and replace it with secularism.

President Trump: Defending Faith, Fighting Anti-Christian Bias

Under President Donald J. Trump, faith is once again being restored in America.

In 2025, President Trump launched:

  • The White House Faith Office
  • The Religious Liberty Commission
  • The Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias at the DOJ

These bold moves are designed to protect religious freedom, push back against government overreach, and end the targeting of Christians in schools, the workplace, and the public square.

On Easter Sunday, President Trump wrote:

“Together, we will build an America that is greater, stronger, richer, healthier, and more rooted in faith than ever before in our history!”

Texas Leads the Way—Again

This isn’t the first time Texas has stepped up.

In 2023, the state passed House Concurrent Resolution 29, creating “Texas Christian Heritage Week” in April for 10 years. These initiatives send a clear message: Faith matters. Family matters. Freedom matters.

Despite leftist media attacks, Promise Month already has 47 co-sponsors—including 11 Democrats—proving that defending America’s Christian roots is not a partisan issue. It’s a patriotic duty.

The Bottom Line: Faith Is Not the Problem—It’s the Solution

The attacks on this resolution aren’t about the Constitution. They’re about control.

Groups like FFRF fear a revival of moral leadership, traditional values, and a return to America’s spiritual foundation. They want God out of government—and out of society. But the people of Texas and countless others across the nation are pushing back.

They’re saying loud and clear:

“We will not be silenced. We will honor God. And we will keep America one nation under Him.”
