Republicans Revolt Against Trump

This has gotten uglier than anyone could have expected!

Shockingly in the fourth round of voting, House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy once again failed to gain the 218 necessary votes to become the next House Speaker!

According to Fox, what is most shocking about this is that McCarthy failed to become the House Speaker a fourth time even after former President Donald Trump endorsed him and told House Republicans to vote for him.

In the fourth vote, the House Freedom Caucus actually ended up nominating Republican Rep. Byron Donalds. Donalds somehow managed to gain 20 votes similar to how Republican Jim Jordan did in the previous three rounds of voting.

As of right now, McCarthy can only afford to lose 4 GOP votes however he is losing much more than that because Republican cannot agree on everything they want from the next House Speaker.

Republican Rep. Chip Roy responded to the fourth vote and said, “Now, here we are. And for the first time in history, there have been two black Americans placed into the nomination for speaker of the House.”

What’s worse is that the House then went into a fifth round of voting and once again came up short as well with McCarthy gaining just 201 votes and not the 218 he needs.

It’s surprising that Republicans refuse to support McCarthy even after Donald Trump gave him the endorsement.

UPDATE: It then went to a sixth round of voting and McCarthy came up short again.
