Concerns have been raised about the possibility of violence at the event, following Trump’s previous call for his supporters to “take our nation back” if he was indicted. Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has denounced the indictment as politically motivated and plans to participate in a “peaceful protest” on Tuesday with the New York Young Republican Club. Earlier this month, barricades were unloaded outside the Manhattan Criminal Court as a precautionary measure, and the NYPD ordered every member of its force to report in full uniform.
After his court appearance, Trump is expected to speak from Mar-a-Lago at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday evening. The NYPD has assured the public that they will do everything in their power to ensure that the event remains peaceful and that everyone is able to safely exercise their rights.
