Brittany Mahomes recently took to Instagram to deliver a strong rebuttal against her critics, who have been scrutinizing her for liking a post by former President Donald Trump regarding his 2024 campaign platform. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s wife, known for her outspoken personality, defended her stance in a Friday Instagram story, addressing the backlash she received after showing support for Trump.
In her story, Mahomes expressed her frustration, saying, “Honestly, it’s clear that to be an adult and harbor such hatred, there must be unresolved issues from one’s past. It’s perplexing that, as adults with fully developed minds, people still have such negative reactions to others’ success.”
Although Mahomes did not specify the exact nature of the criticism she faced, it is evident that her support for Trump’s post, which highlighted key elements of the 2024 GOP platform, sparked significant controversy. The post included positions such as deporting individuals who support Hamas and maintaining the integrity of women’s sports by excluding men.
Despite her generally positive social media presence, Mahomes faced substantial criticism on X (formerly Twitter) in response to her interaction with the Trump post. Some critics questioned her support for Trump, while others expressed concerns about her stance in relation to her family’s diverse background. One comment read, “Brittany Mahomes just outed herself as a Trump supporter,” while another remarked on the apparent contradiction between her support for Trump and her family’s composition.
In light of the backlash, Mahomes appears to have removed her like from the post. As of Friday evening, she was not following Trump’s social media account. This incident follows a period of relative silence from her husband, NFL star Patrick Mahomes, who recently stated that he prefers not to influence others’ political choices.
