Video of the unprovoked attack quickly went viral, sparking outrage nationwide.
Even billionaire Elon Musk called out the mainstream media for initially ignoring the story, while White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller accused liberal outlets of covering up crimes that don’t fit their narrative.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the murder was “entirely preventable,” directly blaming the judge who allowed the suspect to roam free.
“Soft-on-crime policies have deadly consequences,” Leavitt declared. “This young woman’s life should never have been cut short.”
Trump’s Plan to Protect Black Communities
President Trump has turned this tragedy into a rallying cry for his bold law-and-order agenda.
His plan: federalize policing in out-of-control cities and deploy the National Guard to restore peace and safety.
Trump argues his approach will save countless Black lives, especially in majority-Black neighborhoods plagued by Democrat mismanagement.
“In cities like Washington, D.C., 96% of murder victims are Black,” said crime expert John Lott. “When Trump stopped the killings for 13 straight days, he was saving Black lives every single day.”
Last month, during Trump’s 30-day federal takeover of D.C.’s police department, the city went nearly two weeks without a single murder — an incredible milestone that stunned critics and supporters alike.
Now, Trump is taking his strategy to Memphis, Tennessee, another majority-Black, Democrat-run city crippled by violence.
The Numbers Don’t Lie
The statistics are staggering:
- Black Americans make up just 13.8% of the population, yet they were 52% of all U.S. murder victims in 2024.
- In D.C., 96% of homicide victims are Black.

Lott argues these numbers prove that Trump’s policies will save more Black lives than any liberal “reform” ever could.
“If you go easier on criminals, you create more victims,” Lott explained.
“These crackdowns aren’t about punishing communities — they’re about protecting them.”

A recent Gallup poll found that 64% of Black adults are satisfied with police-community relations, a sharp increase since the chaos of 2020.
