Trump To Arrest Democrats?

Nobody is above the law!

In a stunning escalation of tensions between federal authorities and Democratic lawmakers, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has confirmed that arrests of Members of Congress are “definitely on the table” following a confrontation outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Newark, New Jersey.

This dramatic revelation comes after Newark Democrat Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested Friday at the Delaney Hall detention center while protesting federal immigration enforcement.

Trump’s Immigration Crackdown Hits Resistance

President Donald J. Trump has made illegal immigration enforcement a central focus of his second term. Within just 100 days of returning to office, Trump invoked the Alien Enemies Act, giving DHS sweeping powers to detain and deport foreign nationals deemed a threat to national security.

Although the courts initially attempted to stall his actions, the administration is pushing forward with mass deportations, especially of those with criminal records or prior removal orders. Family removals have resumed as well, with DHS confirming that ICE offers detained parents a choice—be deported with their children or assign a safe guardian.

Democrat Lawmakers Accused of Assaulting ICE Officers

The situation intensified when DHS officials accused Democratic Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman, Rob Menendez, and LaMonica McIver of physically assaulting ICE personnel.

According to DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin, there is body camera footage showing members of Congress “assaulting our ICE enforcement officers,” including one instance where a female officer was allegedly body-slammed.

“There will likely be more arrests coming,” McLaughlin said during a CNN interview. “This is a criminal matter, and yes, that includes Members of Congress.”

Left-Wing Leaders Slam Trump, Downplay Lawbreaking

Democrats and their allies have denounced the arrests and threatened legal action. Mayor Baraka insists he was merely supporting constituents and preparing for a press event, denying he broke any laws.

“Nobody told me to leave. No ICE officer, no security guard—nobody,” Baraka told CNN.

But Interim U.S. Attorney Alina Habba, a longtime Trump ally, had a different take:

“Mayor Baraka committed criminal trespass. He defied multiple orders from federal officers. No one is above the law.”

Media Spin vs. Law and Order

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus and other far-left groups have accused DHS of “rogue enforcement,” claiming Trump’s team is weaponizing immigration laws. Rep. McIver even alleged that ICE officers assaulted her during the protest.

However, Governor Phil Murphy (D-NJ), in a tone echoing many in the liberal media, posted on X:

“Mayor Baraka should never have been detained.”

New Lawsuits, More Showdowns Loom

Now, Mayor Baraka says Newark will sue GEO Group, the private company managing Delaney Hall, claiming violations of inspection protocols. DHS, however, disputes those claims and points to ongoing compliance.

In a defiant move, DHS has begun releasing body cam footage to the public to counter Democrat narratives. Conservative voters across the country are now watching closely, as this may set a precedent for how far federal agencies can and should go in restoring law, order, and sovereignty.

🔒 Bottom Line: No One Is Above the Law in Trump’s America

This unprecedented conflict highlights the stark contrast between President Trump’s America First enforcement agenda and the left’s continued effort to undermine immigration law. With possible arrests of sitting Members of Congress on the horizon, the battle over the border is now a battle for the rule of law itself.
