Trump’s new administration is ready to go!
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus, led by Rep. Nanette Diaz Barragán (D-Calif.), has made it clear that they will vigorously oppose President-elect Donald Trump’s plan for large-scale deportations. Barragán, who chairs the group of Democratic lawmakers, argues that mass deportations would severely harm the U.S. economy, claiming that removing millions of workers would create chaos in various industries that rely on immigrant labor.
However, Tom Homan, who Trump appointed as his “border czar” to oversee immigration enforcement, fired back at Barragán’s comments. Speaking on Fox News Live, Homan, a former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), declared, “Game on,” and criticized Barragán for opposing the enforcement of U.S. immigration laws. He went further, suggesting that Barragán should resign from Congress, pointing out that ICE is simply carrying out the laws passed by Congress. Homan’s response underscored the administration’s commitment to enforcing immigration laws and securing the nation’s borders.
Before winning the 2024 presidential election, Donald Trump made a bold promise to undertake the largest deportation effort in American history, targeting illegal immigrants and bolstering national security. In a post on Truth Social, Trump indicated he was ready to declare a national emergency to expedite the deportation process, potentially using military assets to address what he called the “Biden invasion.”
Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton also supported Trump’s stance, sharing on Truth Social that the incoming administration was prepared to use every available resource to enforce the nation’s immigration laws. In response, Trump affirmed the statement, declaring, “TRUE!!!”
Polling shows that a majority of Americans are in favor of stronger immigration enforcement. A recent Fox News poll revealed that 67% of registered voters support policies that would send illegal immigrants back to their home countries, signaling widespread public support for Trump’s immigration plans.
