Here’s what Americans need to know.
Washington, D.C. — In a stunning development from the ongoing government shutdown, the U.S. Supreme Court is now on the brink of running out of money — and Democrats are pointing fingers at President Trump. But many conservatives say the real story is Democrat obstruction and reckless spending finally catching up with Washington.
Supreme Court Public Information Officer Patricia McCabe confirmed that the Court “expects to run out of funding on October 18.”
McCabe announced that the Supreme Court Building will remain off-limits to the public until further notice, but emphasized that the Court will continue critical duties like hearing cases, releasing decisions, and managing legal filings.
At the same time, the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts warned that federal courts nationwide could deplete their funds by October 20. Employees deemed nonessential will be placed on unpaid furlough, while a small group of staff will remain on duty without pay under the Anti-Deficiency Act — a stark reflection of how deeply flawed Washington’s budget priorities have become.
“Federal judges will continue to serve, but only core constitutional duties related to human safety and property protection can continue,” the statement said.
⚖️ Courts Running on Empty
For now, jury programs will continue and case filings will remain available online, but many trials could be delayed or suspended depending on the decisions of individual district courts. Each of the nation’s 94 federal judicial districts will determine how long they can keep operating before money completely runs out.
Behind the scenes, the courts are scrambling to stretch what little cash remains — using leftover balances and fees to limp through another few days of basic operations. But even those funds are expected to dry up early next week.
💥 Democrats Block GOP Funding Bill
The standoff began when Democrats once again blocked a Republican bill to fund the government. The sticking point? Democrats demanded an extension of Obamacare subsidies set to expire at the end of the year — a costly measure House conservatives refused to support.
As a result, the shutdown that started on October 1 continues with no end in sight. And now, the effects are being felt at the highest levels of the judiciary.
Conservatives say this is proof that Washington’s spending addiction and Democrat political games are doing more harm than good. President Trump has pushed for responsible spending, border security, and government accountability — while Democrats remain fixated on protecting bloated entitlement programs and political optics.
🔥 A Shutdown That Exposes Washington’s Priorities
If the Supreme Court runs out of money, it would mark an unprecedented moment in modern history — a symbol of what happens when Democrats put politics before the people.
As the crisis deepens, one thing is clear: Trump’s push to rein in Washington waste is shaking the system to its core.
