Trump Officially Finishes The Border Wall?

Here’s a big update on the southern border.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has approved 36 additional miles of border wall construction, accelerating the Trump administration’s commitment to restoring border integrity and stopping illegal immigration.

Environmental Waivers Cleared to Speed Up Wall Projects

Under the leadership of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, key environmental regulations have been waived to fast-track construction in Arizona and New Mexico. This strategic move allows DHS to move “at a neck-breaking pace” to close dangerous gaps and remove criminal illegal aliens, according to DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

Targeted Wall Projects in High-Risk Areas

  • Yuma Sector: Critical gaps will be filled to prevent illegal crossings
  • El Paso Sector: Additional construction reinforces high-traffic corridors
  • Tucson Sonoita Project: 24 miles of new wall will strengthen the southern Arizona line

These upgrades are funded through 2020–2021 appropriations originally approved under President Donald Trump, ensuring no additional cost to taxpayers.

Local Leaders Applaud Trump’s Border Strategy

“This is exactly what Arizona needs,” said Jonathan Lines, Yuma County Supervisor and Chairman of the Border Security Alliance. “After years of reckless open-border policies from the Biden-Harris administration, we’re finally seeing real action to protect our communities.”

Lines continued, “We applaud President Trump for making border security a top national priority. The wall must be finished. DHS and Border Patrol agents need the tools and resources to do their jobs.”

Trump’s Leadership Brings Results

During the Biden administration, construction was largely halted—even as millions of illegal immigrants flooded across the border, exploiting unfinished wall sections. Drug cartels and human traffickers have taken advantage of these weak points, putting American lives at risk.

In April, similar waivers were issued for construction in California, signaling a broader shift back to strong border enforcement under Trump’s leadership.

Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen added:

“Our border has never been safer than under President Trump. I commend Secretary Noem for carrying out this critical mission. Arizonans overwhelmingly support finishing the wall—it’s about restoring law, order, and national sovereignty.”

Critics Focus on Environmental Concerns

Some progressive groups continue to oppose construction, citing environmental impact. Earthjustice, a left-leaning environmental group, called for Congress to “rescind waivers and focus on ecological preservation.”

But for millions of Americans—especially those living near the border—the real danger isn’t to the environment. It’s the invasion of illegal immigrants, the rise of cartel violence, and the national security risks that come with an unsecured border.

Bottom Line

President Trump’s border wall is back on track, thanks to decisive leadership from DHS and strong support from border communities. With construction ramping up, Americans can finally expect real progress in the fight to secure our borders and protect national sovereignty.
