Trump Leaving Millions Uninsured?

Here’s what Americans need to know.

In a major push to restore fiscal sanity in Washington, House Republicans are advancing a powerful budget reconciliation bill backed by President Donald Trump. Although the bill was briefly returned for revisions, key Medicaid reforms have already passed through committee—signaling that change is coming.

These reforms are designed to cut government waste, protect taxpayer dollars, and prioritize American citizens over illegal immigrants and radical gender policies.

Medicaid Reform That Puts Americans First

The House Energy and Commerce Committee, chaired by Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-KY), approved several groundbreaking Medicaid reforms. Guthrie described the plan as “common-sense legislation that strengthens and sustains Medicaid for the future.”

Under the proposed changes:

  • Illegal immigrants would no longer be eligible for Medicaid, and federal funds would be cut for states that defy immigration law by enrolling them.
  • Able-bodied adults under 65 would be required to work or participate in community engagement to qualify for Medicaid—restoring responsibility and fairness to the system.
  • Eligibility redeterminations would be required every six months, ensuring only those who truly qualify receive benefits.
  • No more federal funds for Planned Parenthood or taxpayer support for gender transition procedures, including hormone treatments and surgeries on minors.

These are reforms that hardworking, law-abiding Americans overwhelmingly support—especially seniors and taxpayers tired of seeing their money wasted on non-citizens and extreme social agendas.

One Bill, Big Impact

Through budget reconciliation, Republicans can advance legislation with just a simple majority—an important advantage given the narrow margins in both chambers. Still, unanimous support within the GOP remains crucial.

President Trump has called on Republicans to rally behind what he’s branded as “THE ONE, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL.”

“This plan delivers tax relief for every American, while removing millions of illegal immigrants from Medicaid to ensure it serves the people who genuinely need it,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

“If we fail to pass this bill, taxes will skyrocket—up to 65%—and the country will suffer,” he added. “It’s time to fix the MESS created by Biden and the Democrats. We don’t need grandstanders. We need results.”

Conservatives Demand Action, Not Excuses

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), a respected member of the House Budget Committee, voted against the bill in its current form—not because he opposes reform, but because he believes it doesn’t go far enough. He’s calling for stronger action to secure the border, slash reckless spending, and return to America First values.

Meanwhile, Democrat Rep. Bobby Scott (VA) claimed the bill would increase the deficit—a talking point many conservatives find laughable, given the trillions wasted under the Biden administration.

The Bottom Line: Protect Our Seniors, Secure Our Borders, Stop the Waste

This budget bill is about more than dollars and cents. It’s about protecting the integrity of Medicaid, honoring the American taxpayer, and stopping the far-left agenda in its tracks.

Conservative voters made their voices heard loud and clear in 2024. Now, it’s time for elected Republicans to deliver—cut the waste, close the loopholes, and get back to putting America First.
