Trump Deploys National Guard To Another US City

President Donald Trump is doubling down on his promise to restore law and order to America’s cities. Over the weekend, West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey (R) confirmed his state is sending 300 to 400 National Guard troops to Washington, D.C., at the President’s request.

“West Virginia is honored to back President Trump as he works to bring safety and dignity back to our nation’s capital,” Morrisey said. “The men and women of our National Guard embody the finest of our state, and this mission demonstrates our dedication to a stronger and more secure America.”

Trump’s Federal Takeover of Washington, D.C.

Earlier this week, Trump invoked emergency powers under the Home Rule Act to launch a crime crackdown in Washington. The move has already placed over 800 National Guard troops and federal officers on D.C. streets, restoring order after years of skyrocketing violence.

West Virginia’s Maj. Gen. James Seward praised the deployment, saying the Guard’s “unique capabilities” will help create “a safe and clean environment for America’s capital.”

White House: Crime Crackdown Already Showing Results

The Trump administration stressed the operation is working. Officials confirmed hundreds of arrests and dozens of illegal firearms seized since the federal surge began.

A White House official said the Guard’s mission will protect federal buildings, support local police, and deter criminals through a powerful show of force.

Democrats Push Back As Trump Stands Firm

Democrats in Washington were quick to complain. D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) called the federal surge “unsettling” and tried to calm residents with an open letter. D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb even filed a lawsuit after the Justice Department briefly tapped DEA chief Terry Cole as “emergency police commissioner.”

Despite their outrage, Trump has vowed to extend the federal security operation beyond 30 days by working with Congress, ensuring Washington, D.C. is no longer overrun by crime.

Trump Delivers Law and Order Once Again

For decades, Washington has struggled with violent crime, homelessness, and lawlessness. President Trump’s decisive action—backed by governors like Patrick Morrisey—shows a clear contrast between his leadership and Democrat mismanagement.

Trump’s crackdown is already paying off, making the streets safer, seizing weapons, and restoring confidence in America’s capital.
