Trump is not joking.
Former President Donald Trump did not mince his words when he talked about the possibility of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis running against him in the 2024 presidential race.
Trump, who is currently the only Republican to officially be running in 2024, explained that it would be a great act of “disloyalty” if DeSantis decided to run against him.
Trump has endorsed DeSantis a number of times in the past to get him where is today.
According to The Hill, after holding campaign rallies in New Hampshire and South Carolina this weekend, Trump sat down with reporters to hold interviews.
Reporters explained to Trump that there is a great chance that several Republicans will challenge him for the GOP nomination including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.
Trump then talked about DeSantis only won his 2018 race thanks to his endorsement and said, “If he runs, that’s fine. I’m way up in the polls. He’s going to have to do what he wants to do, but he may run. I do think it would be a great act of disloyalty because, you know, I got him in. He had no chance. His political life was over.”
Trump also pointed out how DeSantis hasn’t spoken to him personally in a very long time suggesting that he may be distancing himself from Trump because he feels guilty about running.
