President Donald Trump delivered one of his most fiery rebukes yet after The New York Times published what many conservatives are calling a politically motivated smear attacking his health, stamina, and energy.
The article — pushed out by a publication long accused of anti-Trump bias — questioned whether the president is “showing signs of fatigue.”
Trump immediately fired back.
In a direct and forceful Truth Social message, the president said he is working harder than ever to restore America’s strength and security.
“The Radical Left lunatics at the failing New York Times did a hit piece claiming I’m losing energy,” Trump wrote. “It’s totally false — just like almost everything they write about me.”
Trump said that the newspaper knows their story is “purposefully negative,” adding that they have a long history of twisting facts to undermine his presidency.
Trump Calls Out NYT Reporter by Name
The president also singled out Times White House correspondent Katie Rogers, who co-authored the story.
Trump accused her of being openly biased and working with the sole purpose of attacking him.
Trump blasted Rogers as “a low-tier journalist” and said she was “nasty on the inside and the outside,” insisting she’s only ever tasked with writing negative stories about him.
The president reminded Americans that he recently completed a perfect physical exam and aced a comprehensive cognitive test — a point he has emphasized repeatedly to contrast himself with President Biden’s documented decline.
“There WILL be a day when anyone runs low on energy,” Trump wrote, “but it is certainly not now. NOT EVEN CLOSE. GOD BLESS AMERICA & MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
New York Times Tries to Defend the Story
The New York Times attempted to defend the piece, claiming it was “accurate” and based on “firsthand reporting.” Critics say this is yet another example of the media circling the wagons when their political agenda is exposed.
A Times spokesperson accused Trump of “intimidation tactics,” proving once again how sensitive the outlet becomes when its reporting is challenged.
The Times story, written by Rogers and Dylan Freedman, fixated on Trump’s age and claimed he appeared “sleepy” during a November 6 Oval Office event — a description widely mocked as desperate and petty.
Media Ignored Biden’s Decline for Years
The article highlighted Trump’s lighter travel schedule and midday events — notable mainly because the media spent years ignoring President Biden’s early-evening “lids,” stumbling speeches, and serious cognitive concerns.
Trump, now 79, has repeatedly compared his stamina to Biden’s, noting that Biden’s team constantly shielded him from public view.
Another Hit Piece, Same Media Playbook
Trump’s criticism of Rogers isn’t new. Since 2015, the president has pushed back strongly whenever the mainstream media publishes what he calls “fake news.”
Earlier this month, aboard Air Force One, Trump dismissed another reporter with the joking phrase “quiet, piggy” after she asked a question involving Jeffrey Epstein — once again triggering outrage in left-wing media circles.
Trump’s Health Continues to Be a Media Obsession
Since returning to the White House, every small detail about Trump’s health has been scrutinized. Yet doctors have repeatedly reported normal findings.
Recent medical checks — including tests for mild leg swelling and minor hand bruising — were deemed routine, caused by frequent handshaking and the heavy workload of a president who remains deeply active.
BOTTOM LINE
The mainstream media continues to push the narrative that President Trump is slowing down — despite medical evidence and Trump’s own packed schedule showing the exact opposite.
This newest attack from The New York Times is just another example of a failing outlet trying to weaken a president they have opposed from day one.
Trump isn’t backing down, and he isn’t slowing down. Not now. Not ever.
