Trump Trolls Biden

Trump isn’t done with Biden yet.

At a recent National Prayer Breakfast event in Washington, D.C., President Donald Trump took a jab at Joe Biden for attending virtually, mocking his absence from the traditional in-person gathering. Trump highlighted the contrast by saying, “It’s nice to once again have a president who shows up to the prayer breakfast,” adding that he would also be bringing back the once-standard Super Bowl Sunday interview, something Biden skipped last year.

While addressing the second private event at a D.C. hotel, Trump joked about how simple it is to participate in these traditional moments. “They ask a question, and you give them an answer: It’s not that hard,” he remarked, making light of Biden’s decision to skip the interview during the Super Bowl last year. Trump, who was present at both events that day, proudly stated, “I’ve been there every year,” and reiterated, “I’m not doing it via Skype. I want to be here with you, and I have been here with you.”

In a playful moment, Trump joked about his political future, saying, “I do it despite the fact they say I can’t run again,” hinting at a potential third term, a comment that drew laughter from the crowd. He even shared that he had met some “very nice Democrats” at the event, which sparked more laughs.

The National Prayer Breakfast has a long history, with President Dwight D. Eisenhower being the first to attend in 1953. Since then, every president has participated in this significant event. In 2023, however, the National Prayer Breakfast was split into two separate events due to controversies surrounding the private group that had traditionally organized the gathering. While President Biden attended the Capitol Hill event in both 2023 and 2024, his remarks were livestreamed to the private gathering.

Trump’s presence and remarks at the breakfast served as a reminder of his willingness to embrace tradition, standing in stark contrast to Biden’s virtual appearance. His message resonated with those who appreciate a more hands-on and direct approach from their leaders.
