Trump Given Unexpected Honor

This is an incredible win and great sign for Trump’s next 4 years in office.

In a show of respect for the peaceful transfer of power, flags at the U.S. Capitol will be raised to full-staff on Inauguration Day, January 20th, to mark the return of President-elect Donald Trump to the White House, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson confirmed on Tuesday. This temporary change will momentarily override President Joe Biden’s current proclamation to lower flags to half-staff in memory of former President Jimmy Carter, who passed away on December 29th.

Speaker Johnson’s order comes as part of the ceremonial celebration of American democracy, with the nation preparing to welcome its 47th President, Donald Trump. In a statement made via social media, Johnson explained, “On Inauguration day, the U.S. flags on Capitol Hill will be flown at full-staff to celebrate our nation coming together for the inauguration of our newest president.” He also clarified that the flags will return to half-staff the following day to continue honoring President Carter’s legacy.

This move follows a similar one from Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who earlier this week declared that all flags in Texas will be raised to full-staff on Inauguration Day. Governor Abbott emphasized the importance of recognizing the peaceful transition of power, saying, “On January 20, our great nation will celebrate our democratic tradition of transferring power to a new President by inaugurating the 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.” Abbott also highlighted that while it’s important to honor the service of past leaders, the inauguration of President Trump represents a fresh chapter for the nation and a time to celebrate the future ahead for America.

As the country transitions to new leadership, this act of raising the flags reflects a commitment to unity, patriotism, and the enduring strength of American democracy.
