The mainstream media is making a lot of claims, however here are the facts.
President Donald Trump confirmed that he personally called Senator Tim Scott after a video briefly shared on Trump’s Truth Social account drew criticism and was later removed.
According to Trump, the clip was reposted without him viewing the full video. The one-minute meme, styled after Disney’s Lion King, reportedly contained an offensive image involving former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama toward the end.
Speaking to reporters while aboard Air Force One on Friday night, Trump said he immediately reached out to Scott after concerns were raised.
“I spoke with Tim Scott, and he was great,” Trump said. “He understood completely.”
Trump explained that he had only watched the opening segment of the video, which focused on election integrity concerns and voter issues related to Georgia. He said the controversial image appeared later and was never intended to be shared.
“I didn’t see the entire clip,” Trump said. “If I had seen that ending, I wouldn’t have liked it either.”
The post was removed shortly after complaints surfaced. Trump stated that a staff member failed to review the entire video before it was shared. The White House confirmed that the video was taken down as soon as the issue was identified.
While Trump declined to issue a formal apology, he emphasized that there was no malicious intent behind the post and noted the sheer volume of content reviewed daily by his team.
“I look at thousands of things,” Trump said. “I saw the beginning, and it was fine. Once we learned about the rest, it was taken down immediately.”
The episode has renewed discussion around content oversight on political social media platforms, including Truth Social, and highlights the ongoing scrutiny surrounding Trump’s communications as he remains a dominant figure in national politics.
