Court documents show Abrego was denied bond in 2019 following allegations of MS-13 gang membership, based on a tip from a federal informant. While critics claim he had legal protections under “withholding of removal” status, the Trump administration has maintained a zero-tolerance policy toward criminal aliens and threats to national security.

Several activist attorneys and media outlets have pushed back, arguing that tattoos like a crown or Michael Jordan’s Jumpman logo are being used unfairly to label individuals as gang members. But officials insist that such markings are part of how gangs like MS-13 identify their members and spread fear.

“You apparently didn’t read he was a convicted MS-13 gang member with no legal right to be here,” Vance wrote in a follow-up post, dismantling the liberal narrative with facts.
