Here’s what Vance said to Musk.
Vice President JD Vance has a blunt message for billionaire Elon Musk: stay loyal to President Donald Trump and the Republican Party—or risk handing power back to the Democrats.
In an exclusive interview with The Ingraham Angle, Vance said Musk would have far more influence by working inside the GOP and the MAGA movement than by trying to launch a third-party rebellion.
“My advice to Elon would be simple: fix the Republican Party. Push it in your own way, even disagree with the president if you must—but don’t fool yourself into thinking a third party will save America,” Vance warned.
Musk’s “America Party” Put on Ice
Vance’s comments come after the Wall Street Journal revealed Musk has paused plans to create his “America Party,” shifting focus back to his businesses like Tesla and SpaceX.
Musk originally announced the idea last summer on X (formerly Twitter), promising a new political movement to “give Americans their freedom back.”
“When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy,” Musk wrote.
While the project is shelved for now, Musk’s allies say he hasn’t fully abandoned the idea—and could revive it in the future.
Musk’s Rift With Trump
Musk publicly split with Trump earlier this year over a major spending bill, warning it would add trillions to the national debt.
Still, Musk’s America PAC shoveled out nearly $300 million in the 2024 election helping Trump and other GOP candidates, showing his influence in conservative politics is already massive.
But Vance stressed Musk should use that influence where it counts—inside Trump’s Republican Party.
“The far left already sees Elon as part of the American right,” Vance told Laura Ingraham. “He believes in law and order, secure borders, economic growth, and Made-in-America jobs. There’s no going back to the middle. He’s with us now—whether he admits it or not.”
Why Vance Says Unity Is Critical
With speculation swirling about 2028, some have wondered whether Musk could bankroll Vance in a future presidential run. The vice president flatly denied those rumors, saying he hasn’t spoken to Musk or donors about the next race.
Instead, Vance delivered a warning for all conservatives:
👉 A third party would split the vote and let Democrats win.
👉 Trump’s America First movement is the only way to stop the Left.
👉 Conservatives must stay united—loyal to the GOP and to President Trump.
Bottom Line
For JD Vance, the message to Elon Musk—and to millions of Trump supporters—is clear: division helps Democrats, but loyalty strengthens MAGA.
The 2024 elections showed the power of Trump’s movement, and Republicans are betting that keeping Musk and his massive following inside the GOP tent will be crucial to securing America’s future.
