Trump let him have it!
President Donald Trump delivered a brutal takedown of Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) after the Democrat launched a bitter attack on Trump’s peace summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The president’s fiery response lit up Truth Social and left Murphy embarrassed and scrambling for relevance.
Murphy, appearing on NBC’s Meet the Press, claimed that “Putin got everything he wanted” out of the Alaska meeting, calling the historic summit “a disaster” and “an embarrassment for the United States.” He doubled down on social media, accusing Trump of prioritizing “keeping Putin happy” instead of standing with Ukraine.
Trump, never one to let a weak attack slide, fired back with trademark bluntness. He blasted Murphy as “very unattractive (both inside and out),” “stupid,” and “a lightweight,” while reminding Americans that real progress takes strength and leadership — not empty talking points from career Democrats.
Trump wrote, “The not-so-attractive Senator from Connecticut, Chris Murphy, claimed that ‘Putin got everything he wanted.’ In reality, nothing has been given yet — it’s still early, but progress is being made. Murphy is a lightweight who pretends this makes Russia look strong for showing up in America, when in truth it was very difficult for President Putin to come. This war could be ended right now, but foolish people like Murphy, John Bolton, and others make the process far more difficult.”
The president also highlighted what’s next. On Monday, Trump will host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy along with seven European leaders at the White House — the largest gathering of European heads of state under one roof in recent history.
In another post, Trump wrote, “Tomorrow will be a huge day at the White House. I’ve never welcomed this many European leaders at once — it’s a tremendous honor to host them!”
In a third message, Trump emphasized that Zelenskyy has the power to end the war with Russia immediately if he chooses peace over prolonging the fight. “Zelenskyy can end the war with Russia almost immediately, if he wants to, or he can continue to fight,” Trump wrote, pointing out that the conflict stems back to Barack Obama’s failure in Crimea.
Trump continued, “Remember how it started. No getting back Obama giving Crimea (12 years ago, without a shot being fired!), and NO GOING INTO NATO BY UKRAINE. Some things never change!!!”
This latest clash shows why Trump dominates the political arena: while Democrats like Chris Murphy throw insults on cable news, Trump is hosting world leaders, driving negotiations, and putting America First on the global stage.
