Megyn Kelly Throws Trump Under The Bus

Megyn Kelly has angered a lot of Republicans with this new criticism of Trump.

Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly recently criticized former President Donald Trump for what she described as a “rambling” discussion with Elon Musk, attributing this issue to what she suggested might be age-related factors.

On her podcast, “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Kelly explained her critique by noting that Trump’s tendency to go off on tangents during conversations is a pattern she has observed and often points out. “One of the reasons Trump might get frustrated with me is that I’ve been raising concerns about his performance for some time now,” Kelly stated. “When he has moments that seem less coherent, I call him out on it. It’s part of my role to provide honest feedback, even if it’s not always welcome.”

The discussion in question took place on Monday evening when Trump joined Musk for a lengthy conversation on the social media platform X, which Musk owns. During this 90-minute chat, Trump revisited the story of a failed assassination attempt and criticized Vice President Kamala Harris, his opponent in the upcoming election.

Kelly, known for her previous roles at Fox News and NBC and her often contentious relationship with Trump, remarked that the former president’s conversation with Musk felt disjointed. “Trump seemed to ramble, losing focus and extending his points too long,” she noted. “It’s a stark contrast to the dynamic and engaging presence he had during his 2016 campaign. This could be attributed to age-related changes, making it harder for him to maintain the same level of sharpness and focus.”

Kelly suggested that this might be a significant challenge for Trump’s campaign team, who are likely striving to keep him on message and engaged with the audience.

In the broader context, many on the right have urged Trump to emphasize policy differences with his opponents rather than resorting to personal attacks. President Joe Biden’s recent withdrawal from the presidential race, largely driven by concerns about his age, mental sharpness, and his performance during debates, further underscores these concerns. Biden’s lackluster debate performance, marked by reduced energy and moments of disorientation, likely contributed to the decision.

Trump is scheduled to address reporters again at his New Jersey golf club on Thursday, continuing his engagement with the media and public as he prepares for the upcoming election.
