Trump Suffering From New Disease?

Liberal media figures are once again turning their fire on President Donald Trump — this time with a familiar accusation repackaged under a new name.

On Friday, The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg claimed President Donald Trump is suffering from what she sarcastically labeled “Obama and Biden Derangement Syndrome.”

The comment aired during an episode of The View, just days after President Trump delivered a late-night address to the nation outlining his administration’s accomplishments since returning to the White House. In that speech, Trump argued that Americans are still dealing with economic damage left behind by previous Democratic administrations — particularly on inflation, affordability, and energy costs.

Goldberg dismissed those arguments, accusing Trump of repeatedly blaming former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden rather than accepting responsibility himself.

“He always talks about ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome,’” Goldberg said. “But I feel like he’s got Obama and Biden derangement.” She went on to claim the president is “out of excuses” and insisted current economic conditions rest solely on his shoulders.

Trump Keeps Spotlight on Economy and Inflation

Despite ongoing criticism from the left and mixed polling tied largely to economic concerns, President Trump has remained active both from the White House and on the campaign trail. Speaking recently in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, he sharply criticized Democrats for years of reckless spending, weak energy policy, and inflation that has hit seniors and working families especially hard.

Trump rated his administration’s response to inflation an “A-plus-plus-plus,” arguing that reversing damage caused under Biden will take time but that progress is already underway.

The president has also continued using the phrase “Trump Derangement Syndrome” to describe critics he believes are driven by hostility rather than facts — a term that has become common in conservative political discourse.

Lawmakers Push Back After Controversial Post

Earlier this year, Republican lawmakers in Minnesota introduced legislation referencing “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” describing it as an irrational fixation that prevents people from distinguishing legitimate policy disagreements from emotional outrage directed at the president.

More recently, Trump used the term in a Truth Social post following the tragic deaths of Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife. The post quickly sparked backlash from both Democrats and Republicans, who argued the timing and tone were inappropriate given the circumstances.

Reiner’s son, Nick Reiner, was later arrested and charged in connection with the killings after reportedly struggling with severe mental illness.

Several lawmakers spoke out in response. New York Republican Mike Lawler called the incident a “horrible tragedy” and urged compassion, regardless of political views.

Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie, a frequent critic of Trump within the GOP, labeled the post “inappropriate” and challenged fellow Republicans to defend it publicly.

A Divided Media, a Focused Voter Base

The controversy highlights the deep divide between legacy media narratives and the concerns of many American voters — particularly older Americans worried about rising prices, retirement security, healthcare costs, and the overall direction of the country.

As the 2026 midterm elections approach, President Trump appears determined to keep the national conversation focused on economic accountability, while critics continue to frame his rhetoric as divisive.

Whether voters side with media personalities or with Trump’s message on inflation and affordability may ultimately shape the next political chapter.
