All Democrats do are play dirty games.
Trump Mobile has announced a delay in shipping its highly anticipated gold-colored T1 smartphone, pointing to complications caused by the ongoing federal government shutdown — an issue supporters say is once again creating obstacles for a business connected to President Donald Trump.
The wireless service, launched by the Trump Organization on June 16, 2025, had been promoting the release of the commemorative device for months. While no official launch date has been publicly finalized, a Trump Mobile customer service representative told Fortune that the company is now targeting mid to late January for initial shipments.
Government Shutdown Cited as Primary Cause
According to the representative, the delay is tied to stalled federal regulatory processes that were affected by the shutdown, including work involving the Federal Communications Commission.
The representative said the shipment setback is the result of the government shutdown, which temporarily halted work tied to FCC approvals.
Trump Mobile has not disclosed how many customers placed the required $100 deposit toward the $499 smartphone, but interest has reportedly remained strong since the phone was first announced.
A Phone Designed to Mark a Political Milestone
The T1 smartphone was introduced to commemorate the 10th anniversary of President Trump’s first run for the White House. It is bundled with what the company calls “The 47 Plan,” a $47.45 monthly package that includes unlimited talk, text, and data — a symbolic reference to Trump serving as both the 45th and 47th President of the United States.
Earlier promotional materials described the device as “Made in the USA.” More recent language on the company’s website emphasizes that the phone is “proudly American” and “designed with American values in mind.”
Customers Await Updates
Some customers who placed deposits have said they are still waiting for additional updates regarding shipping timelines. Media outlets that placed test orders for tracking purposes reported receiving confirmation emails but little follow-up communication afterward.
Political Reaction and Media Scrutiny
The delay quickly became a point of political commentary. California Governor Gavin Newsom posted a brief, sarcastic response on social media following the announcement.
At the same time, several technology publications have raised questions about the rollout and business model, speculating about production and sourcing details. Trump Mobile, however, has not publicly responded to those claims.
Supporters Point to Regulatory Roadblocks
For many conservatives, the situation underscores broader frustrations with federal shutdowns, regulatory slowdowns, and what they view as a hostile media environment toward businesses associated with President Trump.
While Trump Mobile maintains that the phone is still scheduled for release, customers and observers alike are now watching closely to see how quickly operations resume once government processes return to normal.
