What’s going on with the Biden family?

Ashley Biden, the daughter of President Biden, is facing a tax lien of approximately $5,000, as revealed in documents obtained by The Post on Monday. The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue’s Philadelphia County office issued a notice on December 1, informing the 42-year-old about the tax lien imposed on her property.

This financial setback is a result of Ashley Biden’s failure to pay income taxes in 2015 and 2021, with respective amounts of $1,691 and $1,956. Consequently, she incurred $2,736 and $2,249 in liens, along with a $94.44 filing fee, according to records from Philadelphia’s Court of Common Pleas. Notably, these tax issues occurred during her father’s tenure as vice president and president.

Ashley Biden, the president’s youngest child, has previously made headlines for her past and recent challenges, including the theft of her diary in 2022. The stolen diary, containing highly personal entries, was later sold to the conservative outlet Project Veritas.

In addition to these legal issues, Ashley’s brother, Hunter, is facing serious legal troubles. Hunter was indicted on nine counts of evading $1.4 million in tax payments between 2016 and 2019. The indictment alleges that Hunter spent millions on an extravagant lifestyle instead of paying his tax bills, potentially leading to a 17-year prison sentence if convicted on all counts.

Critics argue that the tax liens on the Biden children exemplify hypocrisy, considering President Biden’s emphasis on wealthy individuals paying their fair share. Garrett Ziegler, founder of the nonprofit Marco Polo and a former aide to President Donald Trump, highlighted the irony and criticized the Bidens for being careless in their financial matters.

Despite these challenges, Ashley Biden has discussed plans for a wellness space in Philadelphia to support formerly incarcerated women dealing with trauma. The venture aims to offer holistic therapies similar to those that helped her cope with personal challenges, including the death of her half-brother Beau Biden in 2015. Ashley has faced legal issues in the past, including arrests during her time as a student at Tulane University in 1999.
