VIDEO: Biden Salutes China

This is what you call a freudian slip.

On Friday, President Biden mistakenly praised China instead of Canada while acknowledging the country’s approach towards migration.

According to Fox, during his speech on U.S. immigration policies at the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa, Biden made a mistake by referring to China instead of Canada, leading to a gaffe.

Biden began by saying, “In the United States, we’re expanding legal pathways for migration, to seek safety and humanitarian…humanitarian basis, while discouraging unlawful migration that feeds exploitation and human trafficking.”

So today, I applaud China for stepping out…excuse me, I applaud Canada,” Biden said as everyone laughed at him.

Biden then made things even worse for himself and said, “You can tell what I’m thinking…about China. I won’t get into that yet. I applaud Canada’s stepping up of similar programs.”

Although Biden did not mention China again in his speech to Parliament, it’s worth noting that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau acknowledged China’s competitive advantage just before Biden took the stage.

Amid the growing tensions between the United States and China, Biden’s speech coincided with a recent incident where Chinese officials issued a warning of “serious consequences” to the U.S. Navy following the sighting of an American warship in the South China Sea.

Trump and a number of Republican voters often refer to President Biden as “President Xiden” often times joking saying that he is owned by Chinese President Xi Jinping and this mistake makes matters even worse. They have also referred to President Biden as “China Joe”.
