A Republican congressman and doctor, Rep. Greg Murphy of North Carolina, has leveled harsh criticism at U.S. President Joe Biden, accusing him of undergoing excessive plastic surgery and botox treatments. The criticism emerged during a broader discussion about the president’s health and mental acuity, particularly in light of his decision to seek reelection.
According to Newsweek, as the oldest president in U.S. history, Biden would be nearing his 82nd birthday during the November 2024 elections and would be 86 if he completes a potential second term. Concerns about his ability to handle the demands of the presidency have been raised due to public slip-ups and stumbles. However, Biden has dismissed worries about his physical and mental well-being.
During an interview with 60 Minutes in September 2022, Biden confidently asserted that his mind was sharp and focused, denying any signs of age-related decline. Despite this, Rep. Murphy appeared on Fox Business and criticized Biden’s alleged plastic surgery, claiming it was evident in his appearance. Murphy also implied that Biden’s frustrated outbursts and difficulty expressing his thoughts indicated a form of dementia.
It is worth noting that other individuals have previously accused Biden of undergoing plastic surgery. In 2019, some cosmetic surgeons commented on scars visible on the sides of Biden’s cheeks, suggesting they were indicative of a facelift performed before his 2020 presidential campaign.
In a February health summary, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the president’s physician, did not mention any plastic surgery but affirmed the normalcy of Biden’s head, ears, eyes, nose, and throat. Routine skin cancer surveillance was also conducted, resulting in the removal of several localized, non-melanoma skin cancers.
