In a decision by President Biden that has angered millions of middle class Americans, the 79-year-old president decided to spend his Thanksgiving day at a billionaire’s private Nantucket home while many families couldn’t even afford a turkey this year.
Republicans sounded off on Biden for his decision to spend Thanksgiving in such a lavish home while also being responsible for shockingly high inflation and gas prices.
Biden stayed at the home of billionaire David Rubenstein, a Carlyle Group co-founder.
According to Yahoo, the White House attempted to do damage control for Biden by claiming that spending Thanksgiving in Nantucket was a decade old tradition for the Biden family and Biden staying in Rubenstein’s home was nothing new.
Currently inflation is higher than it has been in 30 years and millions of American families struggled to pay for their dinner on Thanksgiving day.
Republican Rep. Kevin McCarthy immediately trashed Biden and said, “Dear President Biden, While you are in Nantucket, enjoying your meals at a billionaire’s compound, here are the prices that Americans are paying for their Thanksgiving dinner—the most expensive one in history.”

“Gas prices are skyrocketing,” Republican Rep. Ken Buck wrote. “Thanksgiving dinner will cost more this year. But don’t worry, Joe Biden is heading to Nantucket for vacation today!”
