Could Trump be right?

On Thursday morning, Donald Trump, the former President, continued his criticisms of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, whom he may face in the GOP primary, by stating that DeSantis is running over the most terrible insurance scam in the United States.

Donald Trump criticized Ron DeSantis for providing a $3 billion bailout to insurance companies following Hurricane Ian last September, despite reports from homeowners who claim they have not received sufficient compensation from their insurance claims, according to a report by The Washington Post.

In transcript provided by Newsmax, Trump wrote, “In addition to wanting to cut Social Security (and raise the minimum age to at least 70) & Medicare, RINO Ron DeSanctimonious is delivering the biggest insurance company BAILOUT to Globalist Insurance Companies, in history. He’s also crushed Florida homeowners whose houses were destroyed in the hurricane — they’re getting pennies on the dollar.”

“His insurance commissioner does NOTHING, while Florida’s lives are ruined. This is the worst insurance scam in the entire country!” Trump added.

In the previous year, Florida enacted two pieces of legislation. One of them allocated $1 billion from the state’s revenue to bail out the reinsurance market as the number of insurance providers eligible for support was decreasing. The second legislation was passed in May and provided $2 billion in aid.

Donald Trump, who resides in Florida, has frequently targeted DeSantis for political reasons. While DeSantis has generally refrained from engaging in firing back at Trump, he has hinted that he anticipates attacks from his enemies since they view him as a challenge to their authority.
