Trump Handed Another Beautiful Honor

This has to happen.

Washington, D.C. – A bold new bill from Rep. Greg Steube (R-Fla.) is drawing national attention — and strong support from conservative Americans. The legislation would rename the Washington, D.C. metro system in honor of President Donald J. Trump and the “Make America Great Again” movement, signaling a shift away from wasteful bureaucracy and toward restored American values.

The “Trump Train” and WMAGA Plan

Steube’s Make Autorail Great Again Act would withhold federal dollars from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) unless it agrees to:

  • Rebrand itself as the Washington Metropolitan Authority for Greater Access (WMAGA)
  • Rename the Metrorail as the Trump Train

This initiative is more than symbolic — it’s a push for fiscal responsibility, service reform, and patriotic renewal in the heart of the nation’s capital.

“WMATA has taken billions in taxpayer money and still struggles with safety, service, and solvency,” said Rep. Steube. “It’s time to demand results and restore public trust with a bold, American-first identity.”

A Growing Push to Honor Trump’s Legacy

The bill joins a growing list of proposals aimed at honoring President Trump’s legacy of strength and leadership. Rep. Addison McDowell has brought forward a bill to change the name of the Washington Airport to honor Trump, and Joe Wilson wants to issue $250 bills featuring Trump’s portrait — a clear message that American greatness is back.

These proposals strike a chord with older, patriotic voters who believe the country must return to its roots of excellence, honor, and American pride.

Reforming a Failing Transit System

WMATA currently receives $150 million annually in federal funding, in addition to hundreds of millions from Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. Yet, the agency continues to be plagued by service breakdowns, safety issues, and budget overruns.

“WMATA needs more than a technical upgrade — it needs a cultural transformation,” Steube said.

The proposed WMAGA rebrand is intended to signal that transformation. “It’s not just a name change,” said Steube’s office. “It’s a call for efficiency, accountability, and public service that reflects the spirit of America.”

New Technology, Same Old Problems?

WMATA recently announced a contactless fare system allowing riders to use credit or debit cards — a welcome upgrade, but critics say it doesn’t solve the deeper dysfunction.

With major events like the 2027 NFL Draft heading to D.C., lawmakers say it’s time to clean up the capital — not just cosmetically, but institutionally.

Why This Matters to Conservative Americans

For patriotic Americans aged 50 and up, this legislation represents a return to tradition, fiscal sanity, and common sense governance. It’s a reminder that Trump-style leadership is still alive and growing — not just in rhetoric, but in real policy proposals.
