Is Fox News going liberal? Seems like it.
During a Fox News broadcast outside the Manhattan courthouse where Donald Trump’s trial is happening, Shannon Bream challenged a statement by Alina Habba, one of Trump’s attorneys. Habba suggested that President Biden is responsible for the charges against Trump in New York.
Bream disagreed, explaining that it’s a state trial led by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, not connected to the Biden administration or the Department of Justice.
Habba argued that visits from state officials to the White House indicate political influence in Trump’s prosecution, but Bream emphasized that federal authorities had declined to pursue election-related charges.
Trump faces 34 charges in New York related to allegedly falsifying business records to conceal hush money payments to women before the 2016 election. He maintains his innocence, with allies claiming the charges are politically motivated to hinder his chances of a second term.
Besides the New York case, Trump is involved in two other criminal investigations regarding his post-2020 election actions and retention of official records after his presidency. The New York jury began deliberations on Wednesday.
