Could Trump have been bugged?
Could Vladimir Putin have planted a spy device inside President Trump’s limousine? That’s the shocking suggestion from former Obama-era CIA Director John Brennan, who claimed the Russian leader might have slipped a tracking chip into the presidential vehicle during last week’s summit.
Brennan’s Latest Attack on Trump
Speaking on MSNBC, Brennan—one of Trump’s loudest critics—warned that he “hoped the Secret Service swept The Beast” for hidden devices after Putin briefly joined Trump for a ride.
“The fact that he was given a ride in the presidential limousine… I certainly hope the Secret Service checked for any type of microchip,” Brennan said.
Brennan, who spent years at the CIA, argued that Putin’s background as a KGB officer made him a master manipulator. He suggested that Trump, by welcoming Putin so openly, had “played into his hands.”
A Red-Carpet Welcome Sparks Outrage
At the summit, President Trump greeted Putin on a U.S. air base runway with a full red-carpet reception. The two leaders shook hands as cameras flashed, then climbed into Trump’s armored limo before heading to their meeting.
Brennan called the optics “shameful” and claimed Trump had “normalized Putin,” even though the meeting was focused on ending the bloody war in Ukraine. He insisted that the entire summit was “embarrassing” and produced “nothing of value.”
Democrats Cheer Obama, Attack Trump
Critics note the double standard. When Barack Obama was caught on a hot mic promising Moscow “more flexibility” after his re-election, Brennan and the media looked the other way. But when Trump dares to pursue dialogue, the same figures cry betrayal.
For many conservatives, this isn’t about security at all—it’s about smearing Trump at every turn. Brennan’s “bugged limo” theory is less about protecting America and more about undermining a president who refuses to play by the establishment’s rules.
What This Means for America
Trump’s supporters see his diplomacy as a bold effort to prevent war and save lives—something career politicians and intelligence insiders have failed to deliver. By contrast, Brennan’s remarks highlight just how desperate Washington insiders remain to tear Trump down.
Could Putin really have planted a chip in the Beast? Most Americans doubt it. What’s clear is that Trump continues to face more hostility from Obama holdovers than from foreign adversaries.
