France Takes Cheap Shot At Trump

France is trying to get under Trump’s skin.

In a move stirring outrage across the West, French President Emmanuel Macron announced his plan to formally recognize a Palestinian state at the United Nations — a decision that many say rewards terrorism and undermines our closest ally in the Middle East: Israel.

President Donald Trump, known for his firm stance on national sovereignty and peace through strength, offered a measured response.

“What he says doesn’t matter,” Trump told reporters. “He’s a good guy, I like him — but that statement doesn’t carry any weight.”

But behind Trump’s calm tone, a storm of backlash erupted in Washington.

France’s Shocking Move to Recognize Palestine

Macron took to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday to unveil his intention for France to recognize a Palestinian state during the upcoming UN General Assembly in September. He claimed the move is meant to push for an “immediate ceasefire,” humanitarian aid to Gaza, and the disarmament of Hamas.

In a letter to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Macron said:

“It is up to us, the French, together with the Israelis, the Palestinians, and our international partners, to show peace is possible.”

But critics say this so-called “peace plan” is little more than a political stunt — one that could embolden terrorists and derail real diplomacy.

Rubio and Top Republicans Fire Back

Secretary of State Marco Rubio wasted no time calling the move “reckless” and “a slap in the face” to the victims of the October 7 Hamas terror attacks that left families shattered.

“The United States strongly rejects this plan,” Rubio posted on X. “It rewards Hamas propaganda and sets peace back decades.”

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) took it even further, asking hard-hitting questions that exposed the plan’s flaws:

  • “Who’s in charge of this Palestinian state?”
  • “What are its borders?”
  • “Does Hamas remain in power?”
  • “Do they get to keep an army?”

Graham warned this vague recognition will make a ceasefire harder, not easier.

“Other than those missing details, it sounds like a foolproof plan,” he added sarcastically.

Cotton: Macron Endorsing Terrorists

Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) was blunt:

“This is a shameful endorsement of terrorists.”

Cotton said the only path to peace is backing Israel’s mission to defeat Hamas and rescue innocent hostages. Anything less, he said, sends the wrong message.

Israel Condemns Macron’s Dangerous Declaration

Israel’s leaders didn’t hold back. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned Macron’s proposal as a “reward for terror” and warned that creating a Palestinian state under current conditions would become another Iran-backed launchpad for attacks on Israel.

“The Palestinians don’t want a state beside Israel. They want a state instead of Israel,” Netanyahu said.

Justice Minister Yariv Levin called the move a “black stain on France’s history.” He urged Israel to respond by applying full sovereignty over Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley.

“The Land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel,” Levin declared. “Even President Macron’s declaration won’t change that.”

What This Means for America

Conservative leaders warn that France’s decision is not just a European issue — it affects the United States’ security interests, its alliance with Israel, and the global fight against terrorism.

Here’s what Americans need to know:

  • Recognizing Palestine empowers Hamas.
  • It undermines America’s strongest ally in the Middle East.
  • It signals weakness and division to terrorist regimes like Iran.

With President Trump’s steady leadership and a growing coalition of Republican voices standing firm, the message is clear: America won’t be bullied into false diplomacy.
