GOP Brings Hammer Down On Biden Family

Is the GOP finally doing their job?

The House Oversight Committee is considering issuing a subpoena to Hunter Biden after he is expected to miss a deadline to turn over documents related to his foreign business dealings. Biden had been given until Wednesday at midnight to produce the documents, but will likely fail to do so. The committee is investigating potential conflicts of interest related to Biden’s role on the board of a Ukrainian energy company while his father, Joe Biden, was serving as Vice President of the United States.

According to Fox, the committee had also requested documents from Blue Star Strategies, a lobbying firm that worked with Burisma Holdings, the Ukrainian energy company that Hunter Biden was involved with. Blue Star Strategies has agreed to provide the requested documents, which the committee says will help shed light on the company’s lobbying efforts and whether there was any undue influence on the Obama administration.

Hunter Biden’s lawyer has previously stated that he would not produce the requested documents, citing concerns that they could be used for political purposes. However, the committee has argued that the documents are necessary to fulfill their oversight responsibilities and ensure that there are no conflicts of interest at play.

The potential subpoena would be the latest development in the ongoing controversy surrounding Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings. The younger Biden has faced scrutiny from Republicans over his role at Burisma and has been the subject of unsubstantiated allegations of wrongdoing. Democrats have accused Republicans of using the issue to deflect attention from President Trump’s own controversies, including the ongoing impeachment inquiry.
