Democrats will not like this.
Joe Rogan, the host of the immensely popular Joe Rogan Experience podcast, recently hinted at the possibility of recording an episode at Mar-a-Lago, former President Donald Trump’s private estate in West Palm Beach, Florida. Rogan made the comment during a conversation with comedian Ari Shaffir and fellow podcasters Mark Normand and Shane Gillis, joking that a Mar-a-Lago podcast would be a surefire hit with Trump himself likely making a surprise appearance. “We helped Trump get elected,” Rogan quipped, referencing his past support of the former president.
This comment comes after a somewhat controversial moment in the 2024 election cycle, when Rogan refused to travel to interview Vice President Kamala Harris while she was on the campaign trail. Harris had been scheduled to appear on Rogan’s podcast, but her team insisted on limiting the interview to an hour, and only if Rogan traveled to Houston to meet her. Rogan, known for his long, freewheeling discussions, wasn’t interested in such constraints and declined the offer. “She had an opportunity to come,” Rogan stated, expressing frustration that Harris wanted a short interview while he typically hosts much longer, in-depth conversations.
Rogan’s refusal to bend to Harris’s demands sparked a divided response. Supporters praised him for standing his ground and maintaining the format of his show, while critics took issue with his unwillingness to accommodate the vice president. Rogan’s decision not to chase the interview stands in stark contrast to his willingness to host high-profile figures like Trump, his son Donald Trump Jr., and even JD Vance during the heat of the election.
In fact, Rogan’s interview with Trump in the final days leading up to the 2024 election was a massive success, attracting more than 20 million views in the first 20 hours. Rogan didn’t just give Trump a platform—he also publicly endorsed him, praising Elon Musk for his support of Trump and his transformative impact on social media.
Despite the political divide, Rogan’s podcast has become a go-to for conservatives and independents seeking a candid, no-holds-barred conversation about politics, culture, and current events. As the 2024 election intensifies, it’s clear that Rogan’s influence continues to grow, as does his unflinching support for figures like Trump, who represent a challenge to the status quo.
