Here’s what Republicans need to know.
President-elect Donald Trump has thrown his full support behind KC Crosbie, endorsing her as the next co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) following the departure of Lara Trump. Crosbie, 55, is currently serving as the RNC’s treasurer and is a committeewoman from Kentucky. Her endorsement comes as part of Trump’s ongoing efforts to solidify the Republican Party’s future leadership.
On Truth Social, Trump praised Crosbie as an “America First Patriot” who has proven herself as a leader committed to the principles that have guided the GOP’s success. He noted her significant contributions as treasurer, where she shattered fundraising records and played a crucial role in strengthening the party’s financial standing. Trump commended Crosbie for her tireless work helping Republicans get elected across the country, describing her as someone who has been by his side from the very beginning.
“KC Crosbie will make an outstanding Co-Chair of the RNC,” Trump said in his post. “She has the experience, the drive, and the commitment to continue ensuring a strong, fiscally responsible, and effective RNC that places Election Integrity at the top of its priorities.”
Crosbie’s candidacy comes in the wake of Lara Trump’s decision to step down from her role as co-chair. Lara, 42, played a key role in the GOP’s major electoral successes, including securing the White House, Senate, and House during the previous election cycle. She announced her departure from the RNC, stating that the job she set out to accomplish was complete. Additionally, Lara expressed interest in potentially running for Marco Rubio’s Senate seat in Florida.
In his endorsement, Trump also took the opportunity to praise Lara Trump’s leadership, acknowledging her vital role in transforming the RNC into a more streamlined and effective organization. “Lara, alongside Chairman Michael Whatley, made the RNC a stronger, more focused force, and helped empower the MAGA movement for years to come,” Trump said.
Trump’s announcement also included two important appointments. He nominated Mark Paoletta, a seasoned and respected lawyer, as the new general counsel for the Office of Management and Budget. Paoletta previously held this position during Trump’s first term. Trump also tapped Harmeet Dhillon, a well-known civil rights attorney and legal adviser during the 2020 campaign, as assistant attorney general for civil rights at the Department of Justice. In his endorsement of Dhillon, Trump praised her as a strong defender of religious liberties and a fierce advocate for upholding the Constitution.
With these strategic moves, Trump is reinforcing his commitment to ensuring the Republican Party remains strong, focused, and dedicated to protecting the values that resonate with conservatives across the nation.
