McCarthy is a traitor!
In newly leaked audio released by MSNBC, it has been learned that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) told Republican Liz Cheney on a phone call that he would ask Trump to resign on January 10th, 2021.
According to The Hill, McCarthy can be heard on an audio recording saying, “I think [impeachment resolutions] will pass, and it would be my recommendation you should resign. What he did is unacceptable. Nobody can defend that and nobody should defend it.”
Liz Cheney then asks, “Is there any chance? Are you hearing that he might resign? Is there any reason to think that might happen?”
McCarthy responded, “My gut tells me no. I’m seriously thinking of having that conversation with him tonight…Um, from what I know of him, I mean you guys all know him too, do you think he’d ever back away? But what I think I’m going to do, is I’m going to call him.”
Before this audio recording was released McCarthy and his office vehemently denied that McCarthy ever said anything like this. It will be interesting to see how McCarthy responds to this new discovery. We certainly cannot have McCarthy as our next House Speaker that is forsure.
