Left Calls For Civil War Against Trump?

The liberal media is once again sounding the alarm over President Donald Trump — and this time, it’s talk of a “cold civil war.”

Former NBC anchor Chuck Todd used his own podcast, The Chuck Toddcast, to claim that America is “turning into a cold civil war” because of Trump, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and the Republican Party. Todd’s fiery comments come as redistricting battles in states like Texas and California heat up ahead of 2026.

“This isn’t just politics,” Todd insisted. “This is a stress test of whether our constitutional system works when a president and his party decide they don’t care about the limits on paper.” He accused Trump of “bending and breaking” the rules during both his first and current term in office.

Todd also targeted Republican governors like Greg Abbott, saying they “force their will” on opponents — while admitting that Democrats like California’s Gavin Newsom do the exact same thing. He claimed redistricting fights in both states prove that “minority rights” are being ignored.

Todd’s acknowledgment is drawing attention as he claimed Democrats have adopted an “anything goes” mentality, treating the political battle as if it were real warfare. He warned that when people convince themselves they are at war, they begin justifying actions they would normally see as immoral or unacceptable.

For years, Democrats demanded “fair” maps and independent redistricting commissions. But now, as Todd confessed, the Left is openly willing to “break the rules” to counter Republican gains — the very thing they accused the GOP of doing.

Todd ended his tirade by urging congressional Republicans to “check” Trump’s power, accusing them of offering “zero oversight” and warning that the Constitution is “just yellowing parchment” without leaders willing to act.

Critics say Todd’s words prove the liberal media will stop at nothing to undermine President Trump — even normalizing civil war rhetoric. With Democrats ramping up the fight and the Left’s hostility toward Trump at an all-time high, conservatives see this as yet another reason to stay united heading into the next election.
